A few days ago on 2nd Feb our baby turned 3!!! Yup, she is a big girl now and we are so ridiculously proud of her and truly blessed to be her Mama & Papa. But I must confess that each day I secretly pray for time to slow down just a little, these days, weeks and months are passing by far to quickly. All this Mama wants is to hold her baby girl a little longer.
It has been another amazing year of growing and learning with our clever and cheeky little girl. We are amazed by her curiosity and her ability to learn so many things so quickly, they really are tiny sponges at this age. And it's pure joy to see the world through her eyes. The Christmas tree & lights this year were even more special because Noorie was completely enamoured by them. The simplest things in life bring her (and us) so much joy. We also achieved a huge milestone this past year and bought our first home. Noorie now has her very own backyard to run around and kick a ball in and two floors of rooms to spread her toys and books in. My heart is so full and thankful for all we have achieved as a family this year.
Noorie is such a sweet, kind and loving little girl. Of course being her parents makes us bias about who she is and everything she does, but she truly is a very kind and loving little girl. She has the most adventurous and spunky personality and yet she can be so gentle and thoughtful to others needs. She is brave and fearless in everything she does, unlike her Mama who is simply fascinated by these capabilities of hers. A complete tomboy who to our dismay bumps into objects & hurts herself daily, just because she can't be bothered to be careful in all her excitement. After all her mind is brimming with ideas and naughtiness. Yet when she is around other children she is so nurturing and loving and doesn't mind sharing at all. A very observant and curious child. She makes her Mama & Papa beam with pride and we simply adore her.
She seriously takes after her parents when it comes to the outdoors & going for long walks. We can already tell she will cherish some other passions of ours soon enough, for travel, museums, history and photography. Some of her current favourite activities or should I say obsessions include block building (it's all about precariously balanced sky-scrapers over here), drawing/painting, reading, dancing & talking/singing non-stop. She has an amazing ability to pick up difficult long words with such easy and babbles away at shorter more common words, which by the way we adore about her. Some of her current favourite words/phrases are: dinosaur, moustache, of course (with the sweetest serious nod), 'what are you doing now!', 'what's that noise' (with a quizzical face), 'what happen', 'it's ok' & 'let's go that/this way'.
This last year my little explorer went to India to celebrate her 2nd birthday with her Dadu, Tayaji, Tayima & Big Bro Ekam, after which she visited her extended family and spent over a month with them. She traveled to both South and North India and visited Bangalore, Goa, Chandigarh & New Delhi. Traveling with her was a delightful breeze this time around and she adapted to her environment with ease, making friend with everyone and enrolled many of her fans into her gang. She was much too excited about everything she saw, heard, smelled and tasted. India was good to her & she loved all the attention she got from her family.
Later during the summers, her Nani & Nanu also visited her and she was spoilt rotten by them, which she 'of course' soaked up to the max. And last but not the least she was a very accommodating and brave girl this summer who moved homes with us twice, which understandingly so was a little confusing and unsettling for her at times, but none the less we made sure we had loads of fun along the way and went to tons of parks and playgrounds, licked delicious ice-cream, splashing around in puddles and ran through countless sprinklers, and even ran yes ran through Londons finest museums incl the British Museum (not to worry nothing important was broken or altered). This girl had a very big and exciting year!
I do need to mention the two loves (yes heart sign in her eyes, cupid flying around with arrows kind of love) of her life, her Nanu & her Tayaji. She is totally and completely obsessed with them, flirts (yes flirts) with them, follows them around and just beams in their presence (personal or via phone/internet). And they both are equally in love with her and treat her like a princess.
We are so grateful for the joy she brings to our days and has completely enriched our lives. And we treasure her loving nature & her constant need to shower us with hugs & kisses all day-every day. We simply adore her (did I mention that a million times already?! Same bias & proud parents you see) and love all our conversations with her which btw are getting very interesting by the second. Our hearts are bursting with love for her and we would forever like to remain her piggie back- horsey riding- leg sliding buddies.
We simply love you sweetheart.
Happy 3rd Birthday!!!
Yours always,
Ma-Pa
